The start of the VanDusen Preserve hiking trail, off West Mountain Road.

QLC owns several parcels of land in Queensbury, preserving approximately 65 acres of land in its natural state and providing ecologically-friendly recreational opportunities.

Hiking, wildlife observation and snowshoeing are all welcome activities on QLC’s property on the West Mountain range off West Mountain Road. There is a well-marked and maintained trail that provides a nearly  1 3/4-mile round trip to the crest of the mountain ridge that overlooks all of Queensbury and Glens Falls.

*Just opened is our newest hiking trail, The Clendon Brook Preserve, located on the side of Corinth Road approximately 400 feet west of the VanDusen Road intersection.  The trail is 1/2 mile long and is open for hiking.  We are hoping to have Clendon Brook stocked next spring so that we may offer fishing as well as hiking.  There is a parking lot accommodating four cars at the trail head.

At this time, only the West Mountain Road property, generously donated by Richard Van Dusen in 2004 and the Clendon Brook Preserve generously donated by the Roland Akins family, is available as public recreation areas. With additional support from the public, we are looking to create trails on additional properties to open to the public.
